Our Core Privacy Commitment

At Tooliset, we believe privacy is a fundamental human right. All our file processing tools (including PDF Merger, Image Compressor, File Opener, and Code Compiler) and computational utilities run 100% client-side inside your web browser. Your files, documents, passwords, images, and calculation inputs are never uploaded, stored, or analyzed on our servers.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

Unlike traditional cloud software and online file converters:

  • No File Uploads: When you merge PDFs, compress images, or preview Word/Excel documents, processing is executed using WebAssembly and modern JavaScript directly on your device CPU.
  • No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not ask for your name, email address, physical address, or phone number to access our tools.
  • No Account Registration: Tooliset is completely free with zero signup or login mechanisms.
  • No Input Logging: Text entered into our Word Counter, code typed in our Code Compiler, or numbers calculated in our BMI or Construction tools are instantly discarded when you close or refresh your browser tab.

2. Information Collected Automatically

Like almost all websites, Tooliset automatically collects standard technical data to maintain server stability, monitor performance, and protect against distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks:

  • Server Logs: IP address (anonymized), browser type, operating system, referring URL, and timestamps of page requests.
  • Hosting Infrastructure: Our platform is hosted on Vercel edge networks, which logs standard HTTP request metrics for caching and performance purposes.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Tooliset uses minimal cookies and local browser storage strictly for core site functionality, analytics, and advertising:

  • Local Storage: Some tools (like user UI preferences, theme toggles, or recent unit selections) store settings locally in your browser’s `localStorage`. This data never leaves your device.
  • Google Analytics (gtag.js): We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic patterns, popular tools, and navigation bottlenecks. Google Analytics collects anonymized usage metrics. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Google AdSense: We display advertisements served by Google AdSense to fund our free hosting and bandwidth. Google uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on user visits to this site and other sites on the Internet. 4. Third-Party Services & External Links

Our pages may contain links to external reference websites or documentation (e.g., College Board resources on APUSH calculators, medical guideline bodies on BMI). Tooliset does not control and is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party websites.

5. GDPR & CCPA / CPRA Compliance

Under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Because we do not collect personal profiles, sell personal data, or store user accounts, we do not engage in the sale or sharing of personal information.
